Women On Fire is a unique brand/approach to an all-female concert tour. Their music is emotional and their personal stories are compelling. These 12 women are all seasoned singer/songwriters who have also been through hardship, heartache, and addiction…yet have emerged triumphant! This is a show that will make women laugh, cry, stomp their feet, and find comradery in whatever personal pain they’re going through.
Founded by Leah Shafer (NBC’s Singing Bee) and Deanna Johnston (NBC’s Rock Star INXS and Singing Bee) Leah and Deanna believe that music can mean so much more than the money or fame. They want their music to be about the message… the purpose. The purpose of Women on Fire is to empower and inspire other women. Johnston says, “We want to encourage women to ignore those people who try to tell them that age and/or size are an obstacle to success. No one else can award you with self-respect; except you.” The artists include Alison Parsons, Julie Forester, Angel Smythe, Alva Copeland, Anna Owens, Ilonka Booyens, Dawn Freeman, Mattina Scarpino, Melanie Watson, and Megan Conner.
