Kyle, good article! It's like the WWW should be called, The Wild Wild West, where every CD toting indie can try and rope em some fans. The problem is, there is a glut of mediocre artists and content online. One thing I have been working very hard to do on my http://www.indieheaven.com website is to help Christian indies get over thinking they are God's gift to music, and bring them down to earth. God can't use egomaniacs and eccentric wanna-be's. He is looking for artists who are servants, who look at what they do as a service. I think there is a coming backlash for indie artists, and that is people will automatically tune them out, not even investigate if they are any good, and look at the artist as a sort of 'musical prostitute," willing to do whatever it takes to get their ego fix. I know I am hard on artists, but if things are going to truly change, artists need to change their motives and refine their missions.

The reformation isn't about the music industry, it is about artists needing to reform their missions and be the servants God has called them to be.
All the best!
